The sacrament of Marriage is a public sign that one gives oneself totally to the other person. The grace of the sacrament of marriage helps the husband & wife model their love for each other after the love of Jesus Christ showed toward humanity.
At least one member of the couple must be a Roman Catholic. Also, at least a member of the couple must either be a member of All Saints Parish, and/or a member of a Catholic Parish willing to give permission for the marriage to take place in this Parish. To that end, a couple should meet with their local priest in one of their home parishes right after they are engaged to ensure they are "free to marry" in the eyes of the Church. The priest will gude the couple in compleing any necessary paperwork. Once that step is completed, couples can establish their wedding dates and dive into their wedding planning.
Our Wedding Information Booklet- This booklet provides couples with information about the process for marrying in our parish. The very first step a couple should take before trying to set a date for a wedding is to speak with their local parish priest. If you are an All Saints Parish parishioner, you should make an appointment with one of our priests to discuss marriage with them. If you live in an other parish (in Maine or in another state), you should talk with a priest locally. It is important to determine what permissions the Church may need to give for you to marry.
Once you have talked with a priest and he has indicated you can proceed with receiving the sacrament of marriage, you can begin working with us on setting a date. Couples should set dates and communicate with us no less than six months prior to their desired wedding dates. This is to ensure all of the necessary paperwork is prepared, processed, and any required permissions are granted for the wedding. Weddings are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. A deposit is expected to reserve the church for the desired date.
